miscellaneous info

Canon point:
- In [community profile] empatheias, his original canonpoint was the moment he burns up in the series finale, the latest possible point he could retain his anime memories. He saw his version of Ed leap back into a lifeless body and babble about the other side of the Gate, but was not aware of anything else that happens after Ed gets stabbed. His current canonpoint is mid-movie, on speaking with Ed in Munich and zapping back into his real body.
- Otherwise, if he's a suit of armour, he's from around episode 41, as he heads into Liore by himself. In other words, he is just a suit of armour.
- If he's a regular kid, he's either pre-movie (in which case he remembers nothing from his time in the armour) or just arrived on Earth (see headcanon about memories below).

2003-specific character notes
- Hair: dirty blond, with an ahoge. Eye colour: greenish-grey.
- Physically four or five years younger than he should be.
- Related to the above, his soul is only loosely tethered to his body. Weirdly enough, this is never a problem.
- His armour's breech cloth was light purple.
- As well as highly sensitive, he's trusting to a fault. And that is a fault.
- Prone to soul-searching / mild angst every so often.
- Has never lost a fight to his brother. Ever.

Assorted general headcanon
- Born on the 3rd December 1899.
- He doesn't suddenly recall everything from his four missing years right after passing through the Gate, since that could be a bit traumatic. At first, he only remembers a vague outline of what happened and how it felt. The rest gradually fills itself in over time, beginning with events that people told him about while he was still amnesiac. Basically, prompt him and he'll start to remember, but he might not before then.
- On the right side of the Gate, he can possess inanimate objects by temporarily binding part of his soul to them with alchemy. Pretty much anything solid that he can touch or draw a transmutation circle around will work, but it's only useful if it has moving parts - legs, wheels, whatever. A small soul "fragment" (it doesn't actually split away from him) creates an independently-acting golem, and he can control several of them simultaneously for days at a time; a larger fragment transfers his whole consciousness into the single object it's attached to, but lasts maybe half an hour at best. In both cases, the fragments immediately return to his body when the binding wears off - he doesn't have to be physically nearby. Also, he can combine multiple smaller fragments into one larger fragment remotely, but not the other way around.
- He loves more animals than just cats! Cats are his favourite, that's all. The fluffier the better - which is partly his subconscious reaction to having lost his sense of touch for so long.
- Even more subconsciously, he's a tiny bit of a sense freak where taste and touch are concerned.
- He made most of his outfit himself without realising whose outfit it really was. The exception is the coat.
- The fact that his soul can leave his body more easily than most has implications for possession, body-switching and other supernatural things along those lines, although none of those things are likely to happen in his native steampunk-ish setting.
